What weโre about
Welcome engineering leaders, DevOps, application developers, SREs and platform engineers!
Weโre a group of cloud-native enthusiasts hosting a series of speaking events on a range of topics around platform engineering. You can join us in person in Amsterdam on a regular basis.
Named as a strategic tech trend for 2023 by Gartner, Platform Engineering is gaining traction as an answer to cloud-native complexities. By investing in internal developer platforms, organizations aim to tame the intricacies of their cloud-native stacks, boosting developer experience (DevEx) across the spectrum.
Some of the topics we'll discuss at the meetups:
Platform Engineering challenges and opportunities
Implementation experiences
Best practices
Solutions

19.00 - 19.20 "Building Identical Kubernetes Clusters Across Any Cloud: Lessons from the Trenches"
Mohammed El Marzgioui (Mo), CSO & Co-Founder @ KubeDNAKubeDNA was born out of a project for a farmer's marketplace in Morocco. We ran into every problem imaginable, learning (literally) expensive lessons. But we hung in there and ended up with an automated infrastructure based on Kubernetes, that has been running pretty much autonomously for the past years, serving 1000s of farmers annually.
Thatโs when we decided to productize that infrastructure layer. We wanted it to be cloud agnostic, utilising only the bare minimum from cloud providers and identical across different providers. That proved harder than we thought. In this session we will share our journey with you, the key challenges we encountered and how we (mostly) overcame them.
