Dear Platform Engineering Community,

New year, new.... well, with a community like this, I'd say we're staying exactly as awesome as always!! 😁 And while AI is everywhere right now, this edition is all about Human Intelligence ('HI' 👋😉) - sharing real experiences, lessons learned, and hard-earned knowledge with one another.

Really excited to kick off this year's season of PE MeetUps at Tolhuistuin
👉 IMPORTANT HEADS-UP: We'll be in the room "Zonzij" this time!
With a huge THANK YOU to our hosts Coder & Tarmac for making this possible! 🙏🏻

We've got 3 amazing talks lined up by Michael Suchacz, Lian Li, and Dejan Mladenovski (details in the Agenda below ⏬), followed by plenty of time to dive deeper into conversations with the speakers and your fellow attendees. And yes, there will be food, drinks & hopefully a beautiful sunset to go with it all 😉☺️🍔🍻🌅

As always, all you need to do is bring you++, some good vibes, interesting talking points, and come ready to connect with like-minded professionals in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Can't wait to see you all again!! 🙂
Michi

AGENDA
17.00 - 18.00 Doors Open

18.00 Welcome by our hosts

18.10 - 18.30 "Efficiency Patterns in Agentic Software Development"
Michael Suchacz, Head of Engineering @ Coder

Most platform engineering teams will ask "How do we make AI work efficiently at scale?"

This talk explores practical approaches to optimizing agentic workflows—from context management strategies that keep models focused, to architectural patterns like subagents and swarms that distribute cognitive load.

We'll examine the tradeoffs involved in different approaches, discuss where efficiency gains are real versus illusory, and address the security considerations that come with giving agents more autonomy.

18.35 - 18.55 "A practical guide to inner sourcing your IDP"
Lian Li, Cloud Native Human

Bridging the gap between developers and platform teams is hard.

Scattered documentation, fragmented language and hidden knowledge leave developers frustrated, while platform teams struggle to understand what devs really need. Treating platforms as products is a start—but treating them like open source projects unlocks real collaboration, allowing developers to contribute and maintain features.

In my roles as Developer Advocate and platform engineer, I have years of experience working with highly bureaucratic organisations helping to improve developer experience and adoption.

In this talk, I’ll share concrete steps to identify contribution opportunities, set up maintainable processes, and measure engagement. You’ll leave inspired with ideas to boost adoption, reduce friction, and turn your platform into a collaborative, thriving ecosystem.

19.00 - 19.20 "Escaping the Data Center: Migration Wins and Woes"
Dejan Mladenovski, Principal Software Engineer @ G+D Netcetera

  • Why did we migrate to cloud?
  • Was it a good idea to migrate?
  • Did I at some point want to quit and move to a farm?

19:30 - 22.00 Get-together with food & drinks
