What we’re about
Platform Engineering Leaders is a practitioner-led community for Heads of Platform, Directors of Engineering, Principal & Staff Engineers, SRE leaders, and senior technical decision-makers responsible for building, scaling, and leading modern platform organisations.
We focus on the people, strategy, architecture, and operating models behind high-performing platform teams — from developer platforms and internal products to reliability, security, governance, and organisational adoption.
We run:
• Bi-monthly in-person roundtables and meetups in London
• Occasional online sessions for our wider leadership community
• Collaboration with related groups across the Community Stack ecosystem
Whether you lead a platform function today, are transitioning into a leadership role, or operate as a senior individual contributor influencing platform strategy, you’re very welcome here.
Our events explore:
• Platform strategy, roadmaps and investment prioritisation
• Building and scaling platform engineering teams and capabilities
• Internal Developer Platforms, golden paths and product thinking
• Operating models, adoption, stakeholder alignment and governance
• Reliability, security, risk and accountability at scale
• Real-world case studies and leadership lessons from industry
This community is part of the Community Stack Ecosystem, meaning members can also discover and join our wider communities across Cloud, Data & AI, DevOps, Open Source, Leadership, and more. You can explore and join other ecosystems and events here.
Members are automatically subscribed to our weekly community newsletter via Meetup, where we share upcoming events, speaker opportunities, industry reflections and ecosystem updates. We also publish selected talks and highlights through our YouTube channel.
We’re always looking for:
• Speakers — leadership case studies, strategic insights and transformation stories
• Hosts — organisations able to support executive-style roundtables and meetups
• Sponsors — support with venue access, refreshments and accessibility
• Collaborators — networks, leadership communities and ecosystem partners
If you’d like to speak, sponsor, host, or get involved, please reach out via Meetup — or connect with Ethan Sumner on LinkedIn.
Community Values:
This group follows the Community Stack Code of Conduct.
We aim to create a respectful, thoughtful and inclusive environment where leaders can share openly, learn from peers and support the growth of the wider platform engineering community.
