Cracking the code: Single pane of glass in observability

Details
Based on learnings gained implementing observability platforms at organizations of all sizes, this talk will explore the challenges and successes of designing, architecting and implementing a self-service platform.
With this users and stakeholders can derive insights by querying across multiple sources and streams of data in a single pane of glass.
While examining the goals of providing an observability platform, many decision points are encountered that can make or break project success. Simply buying a commercial platform for observability or setting up a popular OSS project will not solve an organization's problems or suddenly make engineers' lives easier.
This talk will explore:
- How to provide a platform as a product to internal teams and stakeholders to encourage adoption
- Build vs buy considerations for platform components
- KPIs and success metrics to determine if investing in an observability platform will provide the expected value
After a 30-minute talk there’ll be a 15-minute Q&A, for which we encourage you to submit questions in advance.
