One YAML to rule them all (and prevent config drift)

Details

Keeping local and cloud environments in sync is really challenging. This is made even more complicated when the technology stack in each environment is different. Why are we still talking about “worked on my machine”? For instance, why does it need to be that complicated to keep Docker Compose for local development and Helm Charts for Kubernetes based environments in sync?

In this webinar, Sören and Susa will discuss these challenges in detail and show you how to overcome them with Score. Score is a new open source project Susa and Sören are contributing to which puts the developer experience at the center, not the infrastructure.

In this webinar they will cover:

  • Main issues with an infrastructure centric setup: infrastructural complexity, high cognitive load, bottlenecks, etc.

  • Why it is time to shift to a developer and workload centric configuration standard which ensures standardization across all kind of environments in a reusable way

  • How Score lowers cognitive load and can help to improve the developer experience by enabling one git-based workflow for all kind of platforms

After a 30 minutes talk, there will be 15 minutes for Q&A. We’d like to encourage you to submit your questions in advance.
