Platform leadership 101: Why 67% of platform initiatives are failing

Details

Both our community surveys and broader market studies reveal that 67% of platform leaders are missing the mark on building successful, scalable Internal Developer Platforms. From failing to set clear baselines to poor stakeholder buy-in, the challenges are real…and costly. Join our virtual event to explore practical steps for measuring platform success, driving adoption, and rallying your teams around a cohesive vision.

Having helped 100s of Platform Engineers and enterprise teams on their platform engineering journeys, Mallory has a unique perspective on the key cultural and technical challenges organizations face when implementing platform initiatives.

In this talk, she’ll cover:

  • How Platform as a Product and the Minimum Viable Platform framework can help you get started on your journey (and keep momentum!)
  • How to sell your platform up and down in your organization
  • Why it’s important to get both your platform team and other stakeholders aligned on your platform engineering vision and how to best do so

Throughout the session, we’ll also discuss our Platform Engineering Training program. It was designed to get everyone on your team on the same page, teach them the foundational concepts of platform engineering and develop a joint vision for your platform initiative.

After a 30-minute talk there’ll be a 15-minute Q&A, for which we encourage you to submit questions in advance.
A webinar recording and related materials will be shared with all attendees after the event.
