A donation of 2 euro in cash is required at the start of the event. This is until we cover the 6 month Meetup fee that keeps the group alive, then we stop. Limited to maximum 6 euro per person for the April-October cycle, so contributions are more evenly distributed. Thank you for the support :)
Invitation to the Telegram community. ALL COMMUNICATION for this Event will be done in the Event Chat&Photos subchannel. Mute/Unmute your notifications for each subchannel to your preference:

Extra: We play games and make a fool of ourselves sometimes. Be ready to join in :D
Please keep updating your RSVP (Assist/Won't Assist) as your availability changes. I might deny participation in future events for no-shows.

The Plan (13 km):
It's a megahot weekend, moreso inside the city of asphalt.
We are taking refuge by walking under the trees, swimming and relaxing by two beautiful fresh water lakes near Berlin, right by Strausberg.
We will spend most of the time in the water or near it (more than one hour at a time) and keep walking to small distances between lakes and the stations.
While the starting walk to the swimspot is intentionally early (less heat), it is possible for individuals to skip that section and meet us on the beach by taking the Straussee ferry, which is about 2 euro per trip. If you want this option, you should get out in Strausberg Stadt instead and find your way there. I won't coordinate this option but should be fairly easy to find us, as we will likely do the first swim stop at point 2 in the map. I'll be sharing Live Location on Telegram.
It is also technically possible to skip the second lake and take the ferry again or have a smaller walk by closing the loop around Straussee. So, it's a flexible day, where what matters is to keep chill and everyone can choose what that means for them :).
Now, extremely important! Bring sunscreen, a hat and a very good amount of water! Definitely more than 2 liters. The heat is going to be no joke, something like 41 C degrees!
There is no bathrooms or opportunities to buy water that I am aware of once we enter the lake area, so plan it well.
Tickets: DeutschlandTicket or ABC to go and return, 5 eur each way.
Going: We take the S5 until the last stop. We come back from Hegermühle, also in the S5. This runs every 20 minutes.
We start moving immediately after the 10:05 train. Feel free to follow our Live Location on Telegram to catch-up if late arrival.
