It's Carnival again... in Chiasso
Stazione Centrale Milano, Milano, MI, ITAs some of you know, I have to take a 1-month break from tennis due to a hamstring injury last week. It's not a bad injury, so I'm still allowed to do some walking and light hiking. Anyone up for having a day trip to neighbor Switzerland?
As the carnival season in Canton Ticino (the Italian speaking region of Switzerland) is ready to start, let's take a break from tennis and, while waiting for the big Rabadan Carnival in Bellinzona (it will be on February 15th, save the date!!), let's have a day trip to Chiasso.
Located a stone's throw from Milano and with mountains overlooking Lake Como, the Chiasso Carnival features plenty of music and food, as well as majestic hiking trails.
Plan then is to get to Chiasso (Switzerland) at 11:30 and soak up the Carnival atmosphere. At midday we'll see if we can grab a dish of maccheroni or risotto for lunch ( https://www.nebiopoli.ch), then we'll have a hike. The choice of the hike will pretty much depend on the weather forecast, so we'll choose the route later on this week.
Meeting point: 11:30 at the entrance of Chiasso train station or 11:45 at Nebiopoli village (in piazza Bernasconi).
