Hike&museums in Valais
Stazione Centrale Milano , Stazione Centrale Milano, Milano, MI, ITWhile waiting for the next tennis game, it's time to get ready for one of our favourite Swiss events: the night of museums in Valais! With free museums, trains and much more awaiting us, can we possibly resist the call of the Swiss canton?
Of course not! The full program is already out, at https://ndmvs.ch/ : as usual, the big challenge will be to pick a handful out of the gazillion events that Valais has kindly arranged for us. Will we stick to the museum of Vatican guards, which features a vast underworld that would be impossible to explore on other days, or will we travel farther than Sion, to visit the museum world in Martigny or the boat display in St Gingolph? A lot will depend on the weather but, for sure, we won't be bored!
Train-wise, we'll likely stick to the 8:25 train from Milano Centrale (with change at Domodossola), which arrives at Brig station shortly after 11am, just in time to catch the Caracas carnival.
If you wish to stay overnight, plan for Sunday is to have a hike somewhere near Brig , maybe in Lalden or Mund (and possibly combine it with Brigerbad thermal baths?)
