You know that scene in All About Eve, when they gather at the theater to read the play for the first time? We are people who love plays and love to table read plays, aka reading plays aloud. Newbies, returning members, wanna-be thespians, and pros are absolutely welcome.

The 2nd Saturdays will be Drama Therapy Workshop. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but those interested in personal development and exploration through using table reading of scenes, expressive play writing, journaling, improvisation, and group sharing are welcome to attend. This is not group therapy. This is a psychoeducational personal development workshop.

The 3rd Saturdays will be table reading plays: Warming up with monologues, followed by reading 3 flash plays, aka 10-minute plays, then table reading a longer one act play. If you have original flash plays, you can submit them one at a time, one month ahead for approval.

I will provide a wide range of plays. We will cold read the plays, meaning read them for the first time on the day of the event. This is not about a perfect performance. This is about having fun giving voice to the work and enjoying the mistakes as well as the meaningful moments.

The reading times will mostly be 5, 10, and 45 minutes. Due to the size of my office, the max size for an event will be 10 readers. Please cancel 24 hours before the day of the event. This will permit people on the waitlist to get a spot.

I love plays. I love reading plays. I love writing flash plays. I love exploring people, places, times, themes, and things through the lens of the play. I look forward to meeting those of you who feel the same way. "Chipping-in" to help defray the cost of running the meetup group is not required but is greatly appreciated ~ BjT
