Caravan to Point Reyes Lighthouse then oyster shucking at Drakes Bay Oyster Co.

Summertime in the bay area is just about the best, and only, season where coastal festivities can be enjoyed without rain-boots, scarves and 3 layers of coats. With that said, I would like to make our first meetup trip to point reyes lighthouse for a light hike/walk to the scenic points followed by bbq/oyster shucking at drakes bay.

Time: 10 am, July 28th, 2012

We can all go grab a cup of coffee or a snack from the berkeley bowl cafe/bakery. Then I'll hand out maps and directions for the car caravan.

For those of you would would rather meet us there, our second meeting spot will be at the point reyes lighthouse visitor center which is a 0.4 mile walk west of the parking lot for point reyes. The address is 27000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd,Inverness, CA 94937. We'll meet here at around 12:30PM, trek to the lighthouse and back to our cars, then head to tomales bay for oyster shucking.

Depending on how many people RSVP to this event, I will set up a potluck type list if you would like to contribute. Beer and Wine is allowed so feel free to bring whatever you would like for yourself or to share.

EDIT (7/21/12 11pm): If you're going to be joining the group for oyster shucking bring ten dollars in cash. And also, please bring beer/a bottle of wine for yourself and/or to share if you plan on drinking. Seems like were going to have a pretty good turn out, so I'm going to organize all the food/bbqing/shucking gear for oyster shucking. I will reimburse myself for the food and supplies I buy and the rest of the money will go towards oysters. Just to be clear, I will have all the food/non-alcoholic drinks covered for oyster shucking, just bring ten dollars an any beer/wine you'd like to drink.
