What we’re about
Philly Loves Boardgames! and we intend to prove it. Meetups are scheduled for multiple times a week to play card- and boardgames (with an emphasis on Euro-style). This group is friendly for hardcore players as well as beginners, and we encourage bringing new games to teach other players.
You don't have to bring a game, but the more the merrier! Just make sure to bring a good attitude, and have some fun.

•OnlineOnline Settlers of Catan board game MeetUp -- Thursdays
OnlineHi Group! Join us on THURSDAYS to play Settlers of Catan with the Cities & Knights + Seafarers expansions. We meet on discord and if we have more than enough for one match, then we'll break up into groups & have multiple matches going on at once!
Thursdays 7pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). it's OK to be late, but I'd suggest RSVPing so we know to expect you.
We'll be meeting at a new Discord run by our friend Nishi, here's the link:
https://discord.gg/UZMmf6W3XpThese are Friendly matches that will be set-up in Catan Universe as "Custom Matches" and be sure to be ready to play C&Ks + Seafarers (another words please already be set-up to play by having already purchased these 2 expansions of the Catan base game). As friendly Custom Matches, there is no ELO won or lost, just the fun of playing! We will be playing with the turn timer to keep things moving. However, if you have never played using discord before, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how being able to talk with your fellow players moves the game along, helping with trades, etc. etc. etc. And you have the fun of getting to know who you're playing with!
We will be playing Catan online using Catan Universe. If you wish to play Catan with us, I suggest getting yourself setup in advance. The Catan Universe app has a onetime $5 charge (I think it is still $5) to play the Base game (regular Settlers of Catan). Cities & Knights and Seafarers expansions are also onetime charges, and Catan Universe used to sell a "C&Ks + Seafarers" discounted package, but I don't know the price or if they still do that in their store.

The entire evening will run from 6pm to 10pm, starting with Happy Hour which runs until 6:30pm. We will be setting up on the 2nd Floor, a large space with big tables and our own bar where we can order food & drinks!

Ideally located in Old City on Chestnut Street between Front & 2nd Streets, Glory feels both old & new. The exposed brick walls harken to Philly's colonial past, while their selection of many beers, wines, and food are a perfect fit for today's tastes. The affordable menu welcomes all palates, including a number of vegetarian and vegan options! And the tables on the second floor look large enough for both food & board gaming at the same time.Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen has a revolving menu of 36 beers on tap featuring a variety of American and Local Breweries while also offering a wide array of International and Seasonal favorites. I'm seeing these Mondays as the perfect way to start the week -- beers or dinner with friends, plus chill and enjoy board games, maybe meeting some new friends! Kinda what MeetUp is all about, right?
