What to Expect:
We’re bringing our artistic vibes to the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in Washington Heights. Sketch or paint outdoors on the plaza and Beaux-Arts architecture, or draw indoors in designated public areas (dry media only).
Bonus: There’s a guided museum tour at 2:00 PM. You can RSVP on the museum’s website. If you’re unable to do that, you may also sign up onsite or ask the organizer for help.
Additional Note - If you are planning on bringing a tripod/easel, let me know latest by 27th January'26.
After the session, we’ll gather at a nearby café for warm drinks, snacks, and conversation. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just getting started, this is a relaxed and friendly space to create and connect.
How to Get There:
•By Subway:
A Train: Get off at 157th Street, walk west along Broadway, then north on Audubon Terrace.
•By Bus:
M4, M5, or Bx6 buses stop near Broadway and 155th–158th Streets.
•By Car:
Street parking is limited; allow extra time if driving.
•Walking Directions:
The museum is located at 613 W 155th Street, New York, NY 10032, on Audubon Terrace.
Agenda:
•12:00 – 2:00 PM: Draw or paint. Work outdoors en plein air or sketch indoors in designated public areas (dry media only).
•2:00 – 3:00 PM: Guided tour of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library (RSVP via the museum website, sign up onsite, or ask the organizer).
•3:00 – 3:30 PM: Show & tell. Share your work and connect with fellow artists.
•3:30 – 4:00 PM: Head to a nearby café for drinks and conversation.
What to Bring:
- Indoors: Pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, or other dry media (no wet media allowed). Sketchbooks or loose paper.
- Outdoors: Easel, paints, and your medium of choice. Dress warmly and don’t forget gloves, warm socks, and hand warmers.
- A portable stool if needed (not provided by the library).
- Your creative energy and an open mind!
