Spring is here, and it's time to get out and paint!! 🎨🌸
Please read the Community Code on the Group Description page before you RSVP.
What to Expect:
We’re taking our sketchbooks and easels to Carl Schurz Park on the Upper East Side this Sunday to kick off spring after a long, long winter. This picturesque park, partially hidden along the East River, is one of the city's best-concealed secrets. A stroll along the promenade provides beautiful views of the river, the Roosevelt Island Lighthouse, the Triborough Bridge, Randall’s and Wards Islands, and, of course, Gracie Mansion — the 18th-century residence that serves as the Mayor's official home.
Agenda
01:00 PM – 01:15 PM: Meet at the Peter Pan Monument (enter the park via 87th St and East End Ave).
1:15 PM – 3:45 PM: Create! Sketch or paint in the garden, explore the surrounding East River views, or sketch our human and furry New Yorkers.
3:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Regroup at the front steps for a show-and-tell. Share your work and meet fellow artists.
Afterward, we’ll walk to a nearby café for warm drinks and conversation. ☕
