On Monday, we will walk the loop on the other side of the lake, starting at the marina. We can walk out to several spots to see waterfowl activity. I'm truly hoping we can spot some Hooded Mergansers doing their funny mating ritual (photo courtesy of Mike Murray, Lake Accotink Photos). As dusk comes on, maybe some Barred Owl will be making their mating calls. We’ve heard them while working in the Flag Run Habitat Restoration Area near the bridge. I apologize for this last minute post. I've been under the weather, but am feeling better.

In addition to art supplies, definitely bring binoculars if you have them (I will bring a couple of extra pairs) and something to sit on in case there’s too many of us for the bench. A chair is nice, but even a comfy towel will do. Your cell phone and/or a camera for photo references would be good. Also bring your cell phone and/or a camera for photo references.

Please NOTE: For the Feb. 24 outing, we will meet in the park’s marina area near the beach. Please text or call me—Elaine Sevy, 703-901-5612, if you can’t find us or have questions (email address is yorkiemum.sevy95@gmail.com).
