About us
This is for plus size women looking to workout with other women with similar bodies led by a plus size woman.
At the beginning of my fitness journey I tried to join workout classes but was always self conscious about not being able to keep up. Having instructors who were already athletic and have never been plus size, they did not understand the physical struggles of my own body getting in the way of movements and the mental challenge of feeling defeated before I even began.
How nice would it be to find a group of people in the same boat and we all work on these things together, I thought. I searched the internet for a local plus size group fitness but didn’t find any so decided maybe I’ll just have to start it myself.
In Houston, I started a group where we met weekly and trained to run/walk a 5k at the end of the year. It was one of the most rewarding and lovely experiences I’ve ever had. Since moving to Harligen, I would love to start another community like that here.
A little about me: I’m Felix (like felix the cat!) a woman who has struggled with chronic health issues, binge eating and being over weight for my entire life. I have chronic pain and after countless failed attempts to treat it with drs and specialists, I have turned to alternative strengthening and healing by incorporating gentle movement and better eating. I am currently down 80lbs and am focused on slow, maintainable lifestyle changes to get stronger and just feel better. I still struggle with pain, mobility, binge eating, and everything else that you are probably experiencing too, so I will be on this journey right along side with you.

Requirements for members so we can keep a positive and encouraging environment :
-Must be a 190lb+ woman
-positive attitude and desire to get healthy
-respectful communication and consideration of fellow members, let us know if you won’t make it to a meet even if it’s a last minute change so we know to get started without you
what to expect :
-1st class is free and then if you think this kind of group will add value to your life, the club will be $10 monthly/person
-some days we will just walk at a moderate pace and talk, some days will have low impact workouts with stretching.
-after a few meets we can discuss as a group what everyone would like to do more of
-times/days will depend on the availability of majority of our members
But keep in mind- This is not just another heartless workout class where you don’t know anyone and just drop in…after a few meets it will become a small intimate group of women who are working on themselves together, encouraging one another in a judgement free space, and developing a sisterhood. This will be a place we can speak about things like binge eating, depression, health issues, and anything else you would like because it is likely some of us are dealing with those things too. We will encourage each other and learn from one another, we are in this together.
