The Larchmont, a wooden side-wheel steamship, met its tragic fate on a freezing night off the coast of Block Island when it collided with the schooner Harry Knowlton. Join Daniel F. Harrington, Director of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame and Providence Journal columnist, for a captivating presentation on this infamous maritime disaster. Through restored photos and eyewitness accounts, you'll uncover the stories of the ship's crew and passengers, and the incredible tales of survival, panic, murder and miracles.
This event will be offered both in-person at Savin Hill Yacht Club and virtually on Zoom. (Please choose one when you register.)
In-person attendees: Doors open at 6:30 pm. Please proceed to 2nd floor. Attendees may optionally bring a snack to share. There will be a cash bar.
