For those feeling adventurous this Saturday there is a hike I'm hosting on Dartmoor. The hike covers Dartmeet, the East Dart river, Combestone Tor & Venford Waterfall.

Meeting Point : Dartmeet Car Park, Yelverton PL20 6SG

From the meeting point we will head North along the East Dart river, before heading back towards Pixieland gift shop, then south to Combestone Tor where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will head for the river Dart, cross it, and make our way back to the starting point along the river.

Estimated Duration: 3 - 4 hours (including breaks and a stop for lunch).
The hike will be a comfortable pace with plenty of short breaks.

What to bring: Sturdy shoes, water/lunch/snacks, weatherproof gear, and a sense of adventure. Dogs are welcome.

Route Highlights:

This hike features a river crossing. To cross the river comfortably we will need to remove our shoes and socks and make our way across it barefoot. Bring a towel to dry and warm your feet. I have lead groups of people along this route before and everyone has made it across. It is an exhilarating experience and one well worth doing and you can tell people you have walked across the river Dart. It is not without its risks but the risk is minimal.
