January Social Hike: Pew Tor, Heckwood Tor & Feather Tor

Join Moor to Explore for a wintery adventure on Dartmoor!

This hike is a fun, social way to enjoy the outdoors, meet like-minded people, and explore Dartmoor’s stunning tors.

To kick off the year, we’ve chosen a fairly short 5 km loop—perfect for easing back into hiking after the holidays.

Dogs are welcome, but please note there may be sections of the trail where they need to be kept on a lead due to livestock such as horses and sheep in the area.

• Distance: 5.1 km
• Duration: ~2 hours (with breaks)
• Difficulty: Medium (some muddy sections, manageable for most).
• When: Sunday, 26th January, 10:30 AM
• Where: Pork Hill Car Park, Dartmoor

What to Bring:

• Waterproof boots & wet weather gear
• Warm layers, gloves, and a hat
• Water & snacks
• A change of socks (optional but recommended)
• For Dog Owners: Lead, waste bags, and water for your furry friend

Additional Notes:

• Some areas may be muddy with stream crossings due to the season.
• Dogs must be kept under control at all times, and leads will be required when passing livestock.
• If conditions are unsafe, we’ll adjust plans or reschedule.
