David is a seasoned leader in AI model risk management and governance. At ValidMind, he drives adoption of AI validation and governance solutions globally. Previously, he was the Global Lead for Model Risk Management and AI Governance at SAS, advising more than 100 banks worldwide, including 10 Global Systemically Important Banks. He is passionate about building trustworthy AI through robust governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and human-centered design.

Dr. Funda Gunes
Founder & CEO, Walu AI
Dr. Gunes brings 20 years of expertise in AI development and governance. Her career spans work as a Principal Data Scientist at SAS, academic leadership at Duke University, and Head of Responsible AI at MetLife, where she evaluated 300+ AI use cases and trained 20,000+ professionals. With her PhD in Statistics and global recognition in AI governance, she helps organizations design and implement responsible AI solutions that deliver value while safeguarding trust.
