Meeting Topic: The Safety of Failure

Description: Is failure a taboo topic in project management? As a project manager, one often faces situations when reality is not as it seems and bad news are avoided. Let’s explore together some ideas on how to deal with failure. Can we transform failure into opportunities? We see psychological safety as being one of the key factors for creating a safe environment within project teams and, ultimately, for having successful failures.

About the Speakers
Cristina Persa: Since graduating as a chemical engineer, I’ve worked across different industries from Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharma, Automation to IT industry. Had the opportunity to work on different types of projects and challenged my status quo all the way to grow into the person that I am today. I'm a project management enthusiast, PMP certified since 2018 and always looking to be a better version of myself. In my spare time I love to read, travel, spent time with my family and volunteer.

Cristian Trebea: My love affair with IT started more than three decades ago, in secondary school. I got my hands on a computer with the processing power about a tenth of today’s wrist watches and managed to write few lines of code that were drawing some lines on the screen. The fascination I felt that day has driven my career ever since, going through computer graphics programming, artificial intelligence, distributed algorithms, payment and trading systems and many more. About ten years ago, I started drifting towards the unique challenges and vision about a project that are given by the Project Manager role. Currently, I run large scale multiple brand programs involving tens of functional areas and hundreds of stakeholders with pretty much the same joy I had in that first day, when it all started.

Vlad Panut

Delivery Partner, Growth Manager, Entrepreneur. I started my IT adventure more than 15 years ago as a developer. It took me only a few years to realise I am better at other things (or at least I hope so) and I’ve been having different Leadership and Management roles ever since. I’ve had the pleasure to work in service companies as well as product companies or start-ups. Managed projects, products, teams and, lately, clients & sales. In my spare time I like to work on cars and drive on racetracks.
