Community Suit - virtual Red Thread Circle
Details
You're invited to Join us for creativity and a Red Thread Circle** from your own cozy home!
In SoulCollage®️ Evolving, Seena Frost wrote, "the Community suit was actually the initial suit of this process."
As a final project in the Human Capacity Program" with Jean Houston in the 1980s, Seena made 130 cards, honoring each of the other participants in their three year journey.
She jotted each name on an index card, and during the 5 months between the last two sessions, drew a card each day - designating the person as her 'Neter' for that day!
After completing the course, Seena loved the practice, and deepened with crafting cards. With Huston's enthusiastic support, Seena went on to develop other suits (Committee for inner aspects, animal Companion cards, and the archetypes/ Council) and the SoulCollage® process was born.
Throughout her life, Seena continued to draw a Community card each day, often writing a note to or calling the person who was that day's Neter, plus one card from the rest of her deck, then journaled insights.
The 'Community' or Beloveds Suit in the SoulCollage® deck contains cards "for those beings that impact your personal story with their special energy. ... (they) offer the 'net' of their love and wisdoms" - and may also "'net' you with their demands and challenges."
As we craft our own decks, we're invited to list Beloveds who have crossed our lives, and influence who we are: ancestors, family, friends, teachers, classmates, siblings, children, healers, pets ...
This is also the suit for historic figures - Mother Theresa, Jane Goodall, Ram Dass, plus special trees and places.
For our circle, think of who you'd like to honor in your 'community,' gather your card making supplies (glue stick, images, background and card backing - usually 5x7 or 5x8") and join us.
Pour a cuppa, light a candle, bring some Red Thread honoring our connection.
* for tthe Community suit especially, you want to include those who 'have your back!'
We are encouraged to make cards for people and beings who were/ are supportive and inspire us (and not for those who've been a toxic influence!)
You can use images of your loved one or magazine images, plus embellishments which remind you of them.
My 'Fisherman' card honors my daddy Byrle, an avid Flyfisherman.
It's a magazine image, embellishments include a little strip of hand tied flies - Byrle learned to tie his own flies in his 60s - and was proud that his teacher was a woman!
There's also a cup for the coffee, (really Sanka!) heated on the Coleman stove when we were camping.
Another card honoring both my folks includes the birds my mom loved to watch.
We hope you can join us!
**In Red Thread Circles, we come together and interweave the common threads of our stories via creativity.
We meet second and fourth Thursdays throughout the year (send Nadya a message for the zoom link, if its your first Circle with us)
This virtual circle is Complimentary
