What is a single parent? Being a single parent is about navigating the journey of parenthood with courage, resilience, and love, regardless of your relationship status. Even if you're in a committed relationship, you may still feel like you're carrying the bulk of parenting responsibilities. And that's okay—you’re welcome here, however you identify. There’s no one-size-fits-all definition, and we’re here to support you in any form this role takes.
Welcome to our Facebook group, a dedicated community for single parents living north of Seattle! This is a safe and supportive space where single parents can connect, share experiences, and offer advice to one another. Whether you're looking for parenting tips, want to celebrate your achievements, or simply need a compassionate ear to listen, this group is here for you.
Feel free to post messages, ask questions, and engage with fellow members who understand the unique challenges and joys of single parenthood. Together, we can build a vibrant community of support, friendship, and understanding. Let’s meet, share our stories, and find more in common than we ever thought possible.
*** Is this a dating group? ***
No. This is not a dating group. This community is for friendship, connection, socializing, and support while navigating solo/single parenting.
“Single” does not mean relationship status. If dating is your primary goal, this is likely not the right group.
While genuine connections may naturally happen, dating is not the focus of this community.
***Why use the term “Single Parent” if this isn’t a dating group?***
“Single Parent” is a commonly understood, legacy term for people parenting without a co-parenting partnership with their child’s other parent.
We prefer the term solo parent, but use “single parent” because it’s the language most people recognize.
***What geographic area does this group cover?***
This is a North End Seattle–area group. Members are primarily from Everett, Snohomish, Marysville, Lynnwood, Shoreline, and nearby communities.
*** What are the membership expectations? ***
Members are expected to attend at least one event per year to remain active.
***What kinds of events are hosted? How often?***
Events are hosted by members and may be family-friendly or parents-only. There is no set schedule; events occur as members choose to host them.
***Community conduct***
Members are responsible for their own behavior. Disruptive, disrespectful, lewd, or unruly conduct—at events or within the group—will result in removal.
This is a community built on mutual respect, safety, and accountability.
