Poetry workshop

Please note: this workshop, if full, may go till 5:15pm (2hr and 15 min) to give time for introductions.

We’re a small, evolving group of poets who share our work and connect through Discord and regular workshops hosted on Meetup. Our community is centered on thoughtful feedback, creative exchange, and mutual encouragement.

This workshop is for poets who:

• Have a poem they’d like to workshop.
• Are interested in reading and discussing the poetry of others.
• Are open to giving and receiving honest, kind feedback.
• Want to actively participate and communicate with both me and other members.

If that sounds like you, please read the “About” section first. Then, send me the poem you’d like to workshop via Meetup direct message. If your poem needs specific formatting, feel free to send a Google Docs link or something similar. This will be the poem we focus on during the event.

What to expect in the workshop:

1. Reading your poem aloud.
2. Listening and responding to the poems of others.
3. Submitting written feedback on all workshop poems at least one week prior to the event.

All poems will be compiled and shared in a Google Doc for easy access by participants.

We also use Discord as a communication hub and collaborative space—so comfort with this tool is essential to staying connected between workshops.

Please note: Participation is key. Members who are inactive or don’t meet the workshop expectations may be removed. That said, there’s no pressure to stay long-term, drop in as long as it supports your writing journey. If you leave, you can rejoin at a later time when you can be an active and contributing member.
