What we’re about

We all live in boxes related to our everyday lives, origins, influences, and readings, but sometimes, we stumble on (or purposely search for) words from someone "out" of our world: an outer voice.

These are often the voices of women, non-white, queer, disabled people, voices from the south, or from marginalized people.

The goal of this group is to give a space to listen to these voices.

Once a month, around 7 pm, we will start with someone presenting one of these voices that touched them, followed by a discussion on how we receive it from our own singular perspectives. We meet in any place where talking and listening feel easy. Until the group is too big, this will happen at my place with tea and maybe cookies if I find time to cook.

The goal of this group is to both open our view to include more of the other's perspectives and to properly situate our own locus, the place from which we listen.
