Poetry/Creative Writing meetup- Inspired by the uninspired

Inspired by the uninspired~
This meetup is all about what inspires us, what doesn't and how everything in our lives comes together to form our outlook. If you experience writers block, what does it feel like? Is there anything you can engage from that feeling alone and work with it? When we unlock the boundless creativity within us we learn to work with everything we are given in life, we can work with what is in front of us in any moment and use it to write. Inspiration is everywhere, writers block is not real. Let us explore how to utilise our minds so we can always be switched on to such potential if we want to be.

We would not be complete without the hard moments, the boring moments, the times that we don't necessarily feel like we want to write, but these may carry hidden messages in them and keys to unlock a lot of our creative power. So don't throw them to the wind. Instead throw the caution and find out what is buried underneath what you don't like, what you dismiss. Let us journey into the unexpected together and see what comes out.

Everyone will write a prompt on a piece of paper (it can be anything) and then we will put them in a bowl and pull them out, discussing and feeling into the words as ideas to create from. Then we will each choose one and start writing from it. It can be as simple as ‘hot chocolate- I used to like it but now I’m lactose intolerant’…. Starting out simple, perhaps going deeper, it may draw out rhythm and be poetic or a mere creative stream of your thoughts. We will go around and share if we want to, however you can also just listen, no need to read yours aloud if you don’t feel like it.
