Poetry Writing Workshop with Nancy

Details
Come spend a morning with The Ode, a poetic form that has stirred the hearts of writers for centuries. We will read the work of Keats, Neruda, and others, letting their words spark ideas and open new paths for our writing. With their voices still in our ears, we will begin shaping our first drafts, following where the form leads us and seeing what surprises it holds.
Why write an ode? Because learning the old ways gives us the power to reimagine them. When we understand the traditional ode, its rhythm, its history, and its unspoken rules, we can see how to make it our own. By sitting with what has been handed down, we give ourselves permission to stretch it and to weave in our voice until it speaks to the world we live in now. In honoring the past, we create something more alive.
