Merri Furlong Wins the 2007 Chicago No-Limit Omaha Grand Championship, claiming back-to-back series victories!

Group Organizer
Chicago, IL
Post #: 229
(Apr 30, Meetup Press Release). Among top poker competition, no prize is more coveted than back-to-back major tournament victories, especially against top-ranked competition. That's exactly what Merri Furlong accomplished Sunday, April 29, by outlasting 18 of Chicago's best veteran players to win the 2007 Chicago No-Limit Omaha Poker Grand Championship. After nearly 6 hours of play, Merri was heads-up and even chip-stacked against no less than Fabian Ramos, Chicago's top-ranked player of 2006! Two pivotal hands made the difference, the last one winning it all!

Also of note is Richard Lambert's first place finish in the Open Table competition. This is Lambert's second victory, having won the Open Table 5-Card Stud Grand Championship earlier in the year. A tremendous accomplishment! Congratulations to all players participating!

The 2007 Chicago No-Limit Poker Grand Championship is a best-of-five tournament series, leading to a seat on the 2007 Chicago All-Star Team, and induction into the Chicago Poker Hall of Fame. The 4th event of the series is the No-Limit Texas Holdem Event. Check the calendar page for scheduling!
