Policy Hacking with Farm&City: The UTP and YOU

Details
Every summer the Texas Transportation Commission presents a proposed ten year plan that isn't quite a budget, but is seen as the process for allocating billions across the state. This list of projects and funding priorities is part of the Commission’s 10 year plan known as the Unified Transportation Program, also known as the “UTP.” Over the next month, Texans are invited to make their voices heard in this process, to ask for the transportation system you want.
If this seems like a lot to take in, that's because it is. So to help explain it all, we have asked Casey Wells from TxDOT’s Statewide Planning Team to join us for our July Policy Hacking with Farm&City to talk about the UTP, as well as related plans such as the Department’s Resilience, Climate, Carbon Reduction, and Statewide Long-Range Transportation plans, all starting this summer.
There will be opportunities for those who join us in person, and virtually, to ask questions about the UTP and TxDOT’s approach to planning. We hope this can be a fun and informative event, and that we can work together for a transportation system that meets the diverse – and growing – needs of Texans.
Our Policy Hacking meetup will be held on the 1st floor of the Captial Factory in Devvie. Enter the large Capital Factory space from the main lobby. From the reception desk, head to your left to get to Devvie.
