Political Discussion: Current Events

Details
We have a lot of interesting news and I can't wait to hear from you! So before we discuss current event topics let me just quickly go through the process for those of us who will be joining the conversation for the first time. So we choose the topics that we want to discuss. It will be democratic. If you have a topic that you wish us to dissect further please feel free to bring them forth for a vote. For the 2 hours that we have, we will discuss topics voted highest to lowest until the end of our meeting. A few topics that I will throw in for consideration are as follows. If you can please review these topics before the meeting I will just ask an open question on what topics people want to discuss and do a tally around the topics. It does not have to be the offered topics below. This is just a starter list.
*Headline Discussion: Joe Biden Announces a re-election bid a reassessment of his presidency so far and his challenges for re-election
*In doing so I would like to assess the right. The field is crowded and I would like to get people's opinions on the candidate and whether it's a good thing that there is such a crowded field or should the RNC reassess and regulate the field this time?
*Sub question should the DNC be freezing out every other candidate now that Joe Biden has announced or should they allow for fresh faces to debate the current president?
*Dr. Redfield's testimony to Congress "Gain of Function research will release the next great pandemic". Is he right and should this research be allowed?
*Tucker Carlson is out on Fox what does this mean for the channel and the mainstream Republican messaging?
*Supreme court hearing on student loan debt. How do people feel? Is this sound judgment from the right to try to block this effort? Should the president have the right to use Executive Order to eliminate billions of dollars worth of debt? What happens if the Supreme court decides against or for forgiveness?
*New Transgender Laws restricting the participation of trans women is this necessary to protect and maintain access for non-trans women or an unnecessary distraction for politics?
*Lots of innocent victims being shot for getting their location wrong? What is this an indication of and what to do to solve it?
*Red hot escalating tensions with China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea should we be taking a more proactive diplomatic stance or continue to advertise aggression and military arms deals with our allies?
*Supreme Court hearing on the death penalty. You did something monstrous are you a human being that still deserves a humane death? If so why? If not why?
*A war erupting between the Mexican Government & Cartels. Should the US be involved? Will the impacts be felt as the country lies on our border? What should the US do in response if anything?
I have so so much more lol but as always and I think everyone who has come knows this...we could sit all day and talk about this stuff. I hope to hear from all your bright faces soon! Please check the comment section on the scheduled day of the meeting there should be a zoom meeting link posted. If there is another topic you wish to discuss feel free to offer it up for a vote!
