LTD DIFFERENCES & SHARED PHILOSOPHIES OF POLY & OTHER LIFESTYLES

People discover Polyamory in many different ways. Some come through Science Fiction reading or fandom, others from the Swing Community, or by way of BDSM family structures. They may learn about it at a nudist resort or a Pagan gathering. Burning Man has lots of poly camps. Whether these people leave what they were involved in before to join the Poly community or continue in both groups, they bring their own spin to our life style.
At one time the swinging life style and swingers themselves were considered to be of doubtful morality or perhaps just as misguided souls in need of enlightenment by many polyamorists. Today we are more likely to be aware of shades of gray between our two choices. What is the self described swinger who has been “swinging” with the same group for so many years that he has been to their kid’s weddings and bar mitzvahs, shared holidays, and helped when they moved, etc—poly? swinger? Both?
