Welcome NYC language learners! This is a group for people to practice speaking the languages they are learning. It is not language exchange. There are no teachers. There are no fees. Native speakers are welcome to help, but English is not allowed.

If you were previously in the Practice Arabic, Practice Hindi, Practice German, etc. meetup group, this is basically the post-pandemic reincarnation of those groups but all in one place.

Here are the languages we can practice:

* Arabic

* ASL

* German

* Hebrew

* Hindi

* Hungarian

* Russian

* Spanish

* Turkish

There are no set topics. Everyone should come prepared to make everyday conversation. If the group is larger than five people, we will break into smaller groups so everyone has a chance to speak as much as possible.

You should be able to converse at an intermediate level or better.

Here is how things will work:

1) Write me directly if you want to set up a conversation meetup for any of the above languages.

2) You and I will agree on a time and place to practice that language.

3) I will post it for the rest of the group.

I may also reach out to you to see about setting up a meetup. I only communicate through this website, so make sure to keep on top of your messages.

All meetings will be in person and in Manhattan.

Keep in mind that Meetup organizers pay for these groups, so because I am not passing on the charge to the members, no-shows will be removed from the group. If you RSVP as "going" and cannot make it, you must change your RSVP to "not going" at least 30 minutes before the start of the meetup to avoid getting kicked out.
