Abstract: Eclipse MicroProfile is a set of open-source specifications that optimize Enterprise Java for building cloud-native, microservices-based applications. It complements and builds on Jakarta EE by providing APIs and features specifically designed for modern distributed systems, including config management, fault tolerance, metrics, health checks, JWT-based security, and REST client capabilities. This session will equip you with the essential knowledge to start using MicroProfile features in your Jakarta EE projects to build resilient, observable and scalable micro-services.

Speaker Bio: Reshmi Menon has over 10 years of experience in Software Industry. Her experience is mainly in Java API development, with additional expertise in automation, C/C++, python, Unix etc. Currently,She is part of EaseJ (Enterprise Application Service for Java) which is a cloud SaaS offering for open-liberty.

Abstract
In this talk let's go through architectural components of an IoT network with Residential Solar Installations as an example. We will discuss how "things" get connected to the internet and how they communicate data and why they make a difference in providing insights into various aspects of operation of systems.

Preveen Padmanabhan is an experienced freelancer with expertise in embedded systems and hardware software integration and has contributed to various open source projects. An Electrical & Electronics Engineer by education, he worked in various domains including hardware, systems, applications and businesses.
