Lightning Talks ⚡ @Praça Beato

Come join us to share ideas, learn about some odd topics, and meet interesting people.

This month we are trying something different and exciting - a new location in Beato, the up-and-coming cultural and innovation center of Lisbon. As always, the event is free to attend, but we appreciate RSVPs so that we can comfortably accommodate everyone.

Following the growing success of our events we have been looking for a venue that can host our increasing attendance numbers and could also allow us to stay and socialize after the talks mixed with live music performances. This is how we found Praça Beato, a beatiful open space located in the Beato Innovation District who offered to host us for a trial event - which we are very excited about!

The Lightning Talks format remains the same - anyone can sign up to give a talk, and will have 5 minutes (strictly timed!) to talk about a topic of their choosing, followed by 5 minutes of open questions from the audience.

We will have a projector as usual, and we encourage each presenter to prepare with a few slides. We will also have a microphone this time to make sure the presenters are well heard by the audience.

We want to encourage anyone to have a go at presenting, the bar is low. We are a friendly, and encouraging crowd. We appreciate challenging questions when rooted in genuine curiosity, in an atmosphere of kindness and respect.

Planned schedule:
19:30 - Doors and bar open
20:00 - First round of talks
20:50 - Break
21:00 - Second round of talks
21:50 - Break
22:00 - Third round of talks
23:00 - Socializing & live music (surprise guest!)

Praça has a bar and bakery where you can enjoy drinks as well as some snacks or a light meal before and after the talks.
