Location & Address:
Provo River near Mount Timpanogos Park (US-189 Provo Canyon).
Exact meeting spot will be near the river access – if you can, have a car that can hop a curb. If you don't have that, park in the parking lot and walk over, look for the group gathering! Here's the exact Google coordinates: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9dio8NHAqPbzXRkWA
Cost & Ticket Info:
Free – Just show up!
Who Can Attend?
Everyone is welcome! Newbies and seasoned cold plungers alike. You don't need to swim, but probably a good idea that you know how to.
What to Bring:
- Towel
- Water shoes (rocks can be slippery!)
- Bag for shoes afterwards (river banks are made of dirt, don't want that in your car)
- Change of clothes
- Warm layers for afterward (hoodie, sweatpants, etc.)
- Positive attitude 💪
Plan:
We’ll gather for 15 minutes beforehand, chat, stretch, or warm up a bit if needed, then hit the water. It's only about waist high, so you can stand or duck down fully immersed in the water.
- If you're experienced: 3-minute plunge
- If you're new: Start with less, 1-minute (even 30 seconds is a win!)
High five afterwards and get warm!
Special Notes:
- Bring friends if you want! Time flies when you're having fun.
- No judgment – just chill (literally).
- There's no easy place to change afterwards. We usually throw a towel around and change with that, or you can just wrap yourself up.
- Depending on Mother Nature, the temperature will vary for both air/wind and water. If you get cold easily, layers are good for both before and after.
- Safety first: This is a public event. By attending, you assume all risk and liability. Listen to your body. Step out if you feel uncomfortable at any time. There is a little risk with anything in life (especially a river). That being said, we're doing it right above a dam. There is almost zero current in our spot. We've done it a ton of times, and everyone, even kids, has enjoyed it. You'll also be with other people in case of an emergency.
Tone:
Casual, fun, and encouraging.

Every week on Sunday until December 7, 2025
