About us
Know Thyself! Welcome all lovers of wisdom.
The goal of the Socratic Club is to bring together people from all different walks of life who are interested in discussing works of philosophy, theology, and literature by the greatest minds of history.
We are a diverse group of men and women who are intellectually sharp, open minded, and willing to learn and engage in dialogue on the path of wisdom.
Our meetings are two hours long the second Wednesday of each month.
We love to see new faces: please feel free to send us a message or drop in for a meeting.

The End of Reading: Illiteracy & Apathy
Panera Bread, 779 S Federal Hwy, Deerfield Beach, FL, USThanks to all who came out for a great discussion on superintelligence! We will continue discussing artificial intelligence and the manifold implications it is having on society next month with the reading of a recent piece by Rose Horowitch, published in the Atlantic: The End of Reading is Here
I almost certainly am not supposed to be sharing the article this way, so please consider subscribing to the Atlantic for a year; or, perhaps, doing a free trial and proceeding month-by-month. The article online can be found here.
Admin Note: Maintaining this group takes quite a lot of time, money, and energy. Please consider making a donation to ensure the viability of the South Florida Socratic Club.
