What we’re about

A chance to walk and talk the Dharma with an experienced Buddhist. A casual meet-up for anyone interested in Buddhism in the Poole area, whether you are a complete newcomer or an established practitioner.

We'll usually go on an easy to moderate walk of approx 3-5 miles in the Poole area, in a location with decent transport links.

Walks led by Viryanaga, an ordained Buddhist in the Triratna tradition. Viryanaga has been involved in Buddhism since 2011, and was Ordained in 2016. Having lived and trained at the London Buddhist Centre, he was formally the Chair of the Brixton Buddhist Community, and now works as an international consultant for Buddhist Centres across Europe. He holds a Doctorate in Psychology and Neuroscience from King's College London, and had a former career as a researcher conducting research in psychiatric neuroscience and neurodiversity.

Having been brought up in Poole he returned to his hometown in 2025. He is a keen long-distance hiker.
