Writer's Roundtable are gatherings designed to bring together local writers, musicians, authors, poets, and creatives, to discuss ideas and ongoing projects, break writers block and fun prompt writing exercises.
Where: KC Art Club
920 Baltimore Ave (64105)
(located in a gallery, across the street from the Downtown Library)
Free street parking around the block, after 6pm. Parking garage next to the building, too)
What time: 6pm to 930PM (guests begin arriving at 6pm)
What to bring:
Anything you are working on, whether outline, idea or full manuscript.
Poetry and short stories very welcome too.
Consider bringing a laptop or tablet
paper and/or pencil
(we will have materials for you to use too).
Don't be shy! It's time to do something different. Receive feedback and encouragement. Meet new people. Collaborations are encouraged.
What do we do:
6pm to 7pm Guests begin to arrive. Mix & Mingle with Art from 12+ local artists, in a gallery setting. We help make introductions. Thank you for being present!
715pm to 735pm Roundtable Perpective. Guests continue to arrive, and we begin with a roundtable perspective discussion. We learn about other guests perspectives and experiences. They may even similar to yours!
735pm to 8pm Roundtable Reading. Guests discuss current works, with readings, and suggestions. Share any works and Give/Receive feedback.
8pm to 9pm Writing Prompts! Guests are given statements or questions, to be written about, with time limit. We share with one another! Repeat! So much fun!
BYOB: Guests are welcome to bring your favorite wine, beer, or spirits for yourself and to share with others. We will have water and more to share, too..
Cost: Suggested contribution $5 or $10, whatever you can do.
