Pop-up tour to Frederiksborg castle

Details

Did you know Denmark has an absolutely fantastic Renaissance castle, just outside Copenhagen? That castle is Frederiksborg castle, built by Christian 4th from 1600-1625, the same time and style as the Stock Exchange of Copenhagen.
After a big fire hit the castle in 1859, the founder of Carlsberg and other benefactors had it carefully rebuilt, and created a Danish museum for National History. With art, portraits, coats of arms, baroque and English gardens, describing 800 years of Danish history.
Your guide of the day, Jens Frahm-Rasmussen works with expats but is also an authorized guide, and a big fan of the castle where he often does guided tours for tourists. He will guide you in the castle and also show you the beautiful gardens.
Pop-up tours is also about meeting new people, and if you like, you are welcome to join for a drink in the center of Hillerød after the tour, before the possible train ride back to Copenhagen.
You can either join us on the train from Copenhagen, at Hillerød station, or by the castle:

  • Find us in the front car of the train that leaves Copenhagen central station at 13.03 and Nørreport at 13.06 (look for Jens from Nørreport onwards).
  • Meet us at Hillerød station where we should arrive 13.46 (outside front car of the arriving S-train).
  • Meet us in the reception area of the castle around 14.10.
Call Jens (+45-27112111) if you can’t find us.
(We will walk from the station to the castle).
The cost of the guiding is 125 dkk, plus entrance to the castle. We should be able to get a group ticket for 90 DKK p.p., but otherwise it’s 110 DKK. The guiding can be paid on the day by cash or MobilePay.
