Hiking Mount Katahdin and Air B and B

Details
Event Description:
Join us for an unforgettable weekend exploring Baxter State Park and hiking the tallest peak in Maine — Mount Katahdin!
We’ll be staying in a cozy Airbnb from Friday to Sunday and heading out early Saturday morning to tackle the iconic summit via the Roaring Brook trailhead.
This will be a full-day adventure through rugged terrain, breathtaking alpine views, and a true sense of accomplishment at the top of Maine.
Important Notes:
• This is a strenuous and challenging hike. While no technical climbing is required, you must be in good physical condition and comfortable with rocky terrain, steep elevation gain, and a long day on the trail (8-12 hours round trip).
• Not recommended for beginners or those new to hiking — this is one of the most difficult hikes in the Northeast.
• We’ll coordinate carpools and gear ahead of time and offer recommendations for training hikes if you’re unsure of your readiness.
Itinerary:
• Friday: Arrive at our Airbnb, settle in, group dinner & prep for hike
• Saturday: Early morning departure, hike Mount Katahdin, group dinner & rest
• Sunday: Chill breakfast, return home
Gear Checklist, carpool details, and exact trail choice (likely either Chimney Pond/Saddle or Helon Taylor/Knife Edge descent) will be shared closer to the event.
Group Size Limited — RSVP Required!
