Ready to take on a true New England beast? This hike up Mount Washington via the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail is no joke—steep climbs, slick rock, unpredictable weather, and huge rewards. This is for folks who want the challenge and live for the view from 6,288 feet.

We’ll be meeting at the trailhead near the Cog Railway Base Station and starting the hike right at 8:00 AM, so give yourself time to gear up beforehand.

🏔️ Hike Details:
• Distance: ~9.3 miles out and back
• Elevation gain: ~4,300 ft
• Trail rating: Hard
• Estimated time: 7–9 hours roundtrip
• Summit: Mount Washington, highest peak in the Northeast

🧢 What to Bring:
• At least 2L of water (more is better)
• Lunch/snacks with calories that count
• Hiking boots with good tread
• Warm layers, rain gear, and sun protection
• Trekking poles (optional but helpful)
• Grit, hype, and a good attitude

⚠️ Trail Notes:
• This hike is strenuous and technical, especially the upper section. You must be in good hiking shape.
• The weather at the summit can be vastly different from the base. Cold, windy, even snow in summer is possible.
• This is not a dog-friendly hike due to difficulty.
• Cell service may be limited—download maps ahead of time.
