This professionally guided tour begins with a scenic paddle through Portland Harbor before making the crossing to Fort Gorges, a Civil War-era fort situated on a small island in Casco Bay. Upon landing on the beach, your guide will share the fascinating history and uncertain future of this hidden gem.

You’ll have time to explore the fort, take in the views, and learn about its past before paddling back to East End Beach. The full trip includes approximately two hours of kayaking at a slow to moderate pace, making it ideal for beginners.
