3 Mile Threshold Run

Sup everyone. It’s time to start training again! Shamrock is in 9 weeks, and Eugene is in 15. We’ve got plenty of time to prepare for our best race yet. For this Monday it’s a shorter run, but it’s quad heavy.

Run each mile at either your marathon pace or 75-80% of your max.

At the end of each mile:

  • 15-25 Forward Lunges
  • 5-10 Squat Jumps
  • 90 Seconds Rest

Then run the next mile.

This is to increase your ability to convert lactate to fuel. Something nessecary to increase power duration and run a faster pace for longer.
