In this talk, we'll hear why application performance monitoring (APM) is fundamentally important for cloud computing and how APM can be implemented in Azure. We'll survey a variety of performance monitoring features that are native to Azure as well as 3rd party vendors that offer APM solutions in the Azure marketplace such as Riverbed AppInternals, New Relic, and Microsoft AppInsights. We'll also hear how performance monitoring strategies are different depending on whether you're monitoring IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS assets, and we'll see specific examples that demonstrate APM techniques for Azure virtual machines, Azure Cloud Services, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Web Sites, and Sharepoint Online.
