Anton Chekhov: "The Darling"

Much has been said about the Russian masters—Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Gogol, et al—but Chekhov holds a special place in my heart for his mastery of the short form.

As we talked about last time, George Saunders wrote an entire book about seven specific Russian short stories, and one of those is the "The Darling."
