CJ Acoustic Circle Jam (hosted by Jonathan)

Join other acoustic musicians as we share song-leading around the circle in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. We'll focus on the importance of listening to the group as we collectively hone our shared repertoire of Country/Folk, Reggae, Bluegrass, and Old Time genres.

Folks who are comfortable in this jam will have some experience and are eager to blend their voice and/or instrument(s) with other musicians while learning new and old songs with easy-to-memorize changes. We might try charts to help us through some songs and leading songs is optional but participants should be ready to support each other with active listening and dynamics for the good of the song.

What to bring: (1) at least one acoustic instrument that you're comfortable with (vocal chords count!), and (2) (optional) chords and lyrics for new or old songs from country/folk, bluegrass, and old time genres, it's ok if not memorized.

What we'll do: (1) verbally share a few simple chords and changes for a song, (2) play, blend, and harmonize together, and (3) share song-leading and/or solo breaks around the circle for those interested.

We sometimes use screens along with paper or white board and occasional vocal microphones (if needed).
There is a $20 suggested donation.
