CJ Rhythm for Guitarists

Whether you're a beginner or looking to deepen your feel, join John Lamb, owner of the Backbeat Music Academy, for this hands-on workshop that will transform how you hear and play rhythm. We'll skip the music theory and dig into what actually makes music groove. Discover why rhythm accounts for nearly 90% of music's emotional impact, how interlocking pulses create harmony in time, and why aiming at the effect—not the notes—unlocks better timing. Designed with guitarists in mind, but valuable for every instrumentalist and vocalist! All skill levels welcome. Bring your instrument, your ears, and your curiosity for a fresh perspective on rhythm.

You may bring either acoustic or electric guitar, but there will be no guarantee we can plug any or all electric guitars into the system based on attendance. No amplifiers are permitted. All jams start promptly on the hour, with a break at 10 minutes before each hour for adjustments. If you are new to CJ, please register on the tablet in the entry.
