What we’re about
Hey, y'all! My name is Chase, and I'm looking for a group of environmentally conscious 25-35 year old folks who want to help clean up litter around Portland for fun, and then hang out afterwards. I'd first like to meet up to discuss places in our members' communities that we want cleaned up, and then create a weekly schedule where we can meet after work and pick up all the trash we can! I would also love it if we could find a common interest in a place/places to hang out afterwards.
As far as supplies goes, I would be willing to provide garbage bags & equipment such as rubber gloves and trash grabbers. It might behoove us to invest in Hi-Vis vests and headlamps as well if we intend to do any cleanup after dark, since the sun sets right as many people get off of work. But I don't want to let a little darkness stop us!
Note: this is not a group designed to disparage or disrupt unhoused people, nor are we trying to clean them out. I would like to keep the focus on cleaning areas that are not being lived on.
