Hillsboro Hops baseball from Orenco Woods via Rock Creek Trail

Join us for a 6.6-mile roundtrip hike to the new Hops Ballpark from the Orenco Woods Nature Park via the scenic Rock Creek Trail.

We’ll gather near the restrooms at the Orenco Woods Nature Park, 7100 NE Birch Street in Hillsboro. Then we'll embark on the Rock Creek Trail to NE Evergreen Parkway, which provides the final 1.6 miles to the baseball venue. After the game, we’ll return on a straight 2.6-mile shot down NE Century Boulevard to Orenco.

The Hops Ballpark opened this month as a multi-use facility with a variety of seating options. Ticket prices range from $11 for a lawn seat to $142 for the all-inclusive Meridian Club. Tickets are available online and at the ballpark's box office.

The Hillsboro Hops, a minor league affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will play the Spokane Indians in the 1:05 pm game. The Hops Ballpark is a cash-free venue that accepts credit cards only. Ample free parking is available at the Orenco Woods Nature Park (parking at the ballpark costs $9.50). We should average 2 to 2.5 mph on the walk to the ballpark and closer to 3 mph on the return trip. The generally level roundtrip route includes suburban sidewalks and the largely surfaced Rock Creek Trail.

The Orenco Woods Nature Park is located a 12-minute, half-mile walk from the Orenco MAX station, which hosts a La Provence Patisserie for those who seek pre-hike nourishment.
