PDX DevOps meetup is in full swing. We have a roadmap of speakers and are actively looking for more speakers!
We have a new home and plan to be in this location for the foreseeable future. The event is held at the Reperio office in SE Portland. There is a parking lot available for drivers and it's right off the Orange Line for MAX commuters. If you are coming from SW, rumor has it you take the Blue line to the Orange line.
For those who aren't able to make it in person but would like to participate there will be a zoom link dropped in the Discord prior to the event.

THIS MONTH'S TALK:
Synopsis: Keeping a stable development environment with all the dependencies (languages, libraries, tools) can be difficult. Nix (and NixOS) were specifically designed to solve the problem of reproducible builds in a declarative way. This talk introduces you to "just enough Nix" to build a dev environment that's portable and also allows you to re-distribute what you've built as a package and even Docker container - all built with Nix! We'll see how jumping into a hands-on approach makes it easier to learn and gets you a single set of tooling for development, testing, & distribution.
Bio Scott Windsor (he/him) is a software engineer who lives in Portland, OR. He's been an engineer for over 20 years and has found himself regularly "running towards the danger" when it comes to systems engineering and DevOps. He's currently working at Mechanical Orchard on the Infrastructure team, using all his skills to help teams modernize mainframes.

There is a gravel parking lot on the south side of the building that you can park in. And you enter the building through the North-East corner of SE 17th Ave & SE Schillings, by Ruse Brewing. - Then just go through the lobby past the glass double doors and loading dock, then turn left down the interior corridor. Our Office suite is the Second door on the left.
