Monthly Meeting -- Presentations of Elixir, Erlang and related technologies
Details
• What we'll do
The monthly meeting is the primary event offered by Elixir PDX. It includes presentations given by local and remote Elixir and Erlang presenters.
Michael Matyi, from Househappy > Will be presenting a project that uses Elixir and Rust NIFs (using the Rustler library) to allow low level audio processing with PortAudio. There's also a Phoenix application which provides an interface to the audio processing layer. The project is a simple experiment but touches on a number of concepts which might be interesting: NIFs in Elixir, Rust threads, Phoenix channels and Umbrella application design.
